Make Your Own Hair Whips!

Hair Whips For Silky Hair

Hello again hairoholics!

Today I have a recipe for you, it is the ultimate hair treat and most of the ingredients are already in your pantry/kitchen cabinets. I recently discovered that coconut oil turns into a whipped cream texture when whipped , using this knowledge I created the ultimate hair treat. Additional olive oil and castor oil nourish hair and promote growth. Food colouring is also a great way to give your hair whip a neat colour, this is optional though. The great part about this recipe is that it can be customized according to your scent/colour preferences.

So get out your electric mixer/whisk and let's get whipping!

What you will need:

Olive oil
Coconut oil
Castor oil
Food colouring (optional)
Essential oils (your favourite scents)
Empty hair mask container or plain jar
Honey (because it is a natural preservative)
Electric Mixer/Whisk (I prefer the electric whip because it works on high speed)
Mixing bowl

Making the hair whip:

Start off by adding 1/2 a cup of coconut oil as your base, proceed adding 2tbsp of olive and castor oil. Mix all oils thoroughly in the bowl. Add 5-10 drops each of the essential oils of your choice (my favourite are lavender and eucalyptus), mix all the ingredients. Now take the whisk or electric whisk and start whipping! Quickly whip for 2-3 minutes, then add a tbsp. of honey and a few drops of food colouring and whisk again for 3-4 minutes. Pour the mask into a clean jar or empty hair mask container, the consistency should be fluffy and light.

How to use the hair whip:

The hair whip can be used in many ways according to your preference. It can be massaged into the scalp and spread across the hair, left in for 15 minutes and washed out. Or you can apply the whip and leave it on overnight for a deeeep treatment.

Give it as a gift:

I love making hair whips and treatments for friends/family. It may seem like a simple gift, but the results are miraculous. My sister, who has bleached and stressed hair, is currently using one of the hair whips that I made. It is very simple to make a hair whip treatment as a gift, just decorate the jar and customize the colour and scent of the whip.

Post a comment if you tried the recipe, I would love to hear about your results!
